Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The beds were spacious and comfortable. The heater was amazing for the cold nights. The room had a microwave. The room was stocked with full-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, plus there were scented bath salts in the lobby to use. My favorite about the room was the big bath with the jets. My partner and I ran hot baths every night before bed and turned the jets on like a jacuzzi while treating ourselves to alcoholic beverages. The hotel is within walking distance (maybe 15 minutes) to a large park with dinosaur slides (I think it was just called Dinosaur Park on Google maps) and lots of other jungle gyms and playground equipment. Also 6 minute walking distance from the hotel was a laundromat called 'Naturel Odaka Coin Laundry' and we went here to wash our clothes. It was a washer/dryer combo, and no laundry supplies needed, easy for tourists. Just put your clothes in, wait 60 minutes, then take your clothes out. It washes, dispenses detergent itself, and dries it all in one go. I think it was 1500 yen for 1 large load (less than $10 USD). Also 10 minute walking distance was a large grocery store called 'Felna Morinosato', where we got a lot of packaged foods and drinks.

Negative: I have never stayed at a hotel where I had to get permission to enter and leave my room. I had to ask the staff at the front desk to be let into my room, and then the door would be locked afterwards. Once I was in my hotel room, I had to call the front desk to ask them to let me back out. There are no room keys. This is a love hotel, so only 2 people are allowed per room, so I stayed in a room with 1 child, and my partner stayed in another room with our other child. The staff also does not speak English and we had to communicate through Google Translate.
