Summary: The property is nice but it is really a restaurant with some bedrooms. The staff at all touch points (check in, requests for help, etc) were not terribly friendly or knowledgeable- especially when it wasn’t “business hours.” We were also put in a room that has no business being booked out during warm months. I grew up in house that was over 200 years old so I am very familiar with the challenges of no AC and heat rising and the solutions available to you. We were on the third floor and the room measured in at 96 degrees the first night and didn’t drop below 85 for the entirety of the night even with cooler overnight temperatures. The first two floors of the building were markedly cooler. The two rooms on the top floor really should not be rented out when temps rise above 70 degrees Fahrenheit if they’re not going to invest in proper cooling technologies (and yes, they exist for listed buildings).
